Finding Free Stuff From the Internet
Wouldn't it be great to have one of the new iPods? Or a new high-definition flat-screen TV, laptop, digital camera, or gaming console? You know you can get all of this and more on the Internet... but did you know you can get them absolutely free?

No, really! As long as you're able to get online, there are thousands of web sites with rewards, gift cards, free samples, and more, that are yours for the taking -- all you have to do is participate in short surveys, or market research, or sometimes pay a small shipping and handling charge.

So, what's the catch? Well, you will be required to provide your real name, address, telephone number, and email address upon registration for the free item. If not, how would they get it to you? If you do not like to give your private information online, you are immediately disqualified from getting free products from these sites.

You may also have to answer survey questions, participate in product tests, or help with market research. Especially for the more expensive items, like big-ticket electronics or big-money gift cards. In general, the more expensive the item is, the more you will need to do to earn it. On the other hand, sometimes only a simple survey or two stands between you and a $25 VISA gift card reward. Simple enough, no?

And companies want your mailing address or e-mail address. You give 'em your address, and they give you stuff! What the companies are doing in these cases are obtaining your information so they can either target you as a consumer in the future, or pass your information on to other sales sites. But, if you can stand receiving some spam in your inbox in exchange for a gift certificate or electronic device, you can certainly get some items you otherwise would not purchase for yourself due to the cost.

There are a lot of free things out on the Internet. Some of the things you've perhaps always wanted. You could get something that you truly need. Either way, by doing some persistent searching, you may repeatedly get new "presents" in your inbox. Easy enough, and a lot of fun, too!
